A first of its kind…

In 2012 the Institute of Neijing Research (INR) was developed in order to research, transmit, and develop the global practice of Neijing acumoxa. This was a first of its kind: the only truly Huangdi Neijing dedicated clinical teaching institution. Initially all seminars were delivered face-to-face in small groups around the world. As of 2020 most of the seminars moved online.

The INR revolves around the appropriate transmission of classical Neijing acumoxa - the available online seminars are for anybody interested to learn from. There are layers to learning and online study is only a small step to understanding the simplicity within this complex medical system. True transmission happens in what is traditionally called “inner circle” teacher-student relationships. Here clinical methods and self are cultivated to their utmost and the lineage can continue on.

continued communication…

In addition to the above teaching institute the INR has casual discussions on classical medicine, a youtube series called “Tea With Huangdi”. You can access the videos here.

Furthermore, a blog for Vessel Medicine / Classical Acupuncture Sydney is set up to communicate with patients about current events, clinic updates, and more. Please access the blog here.

Over the last 23 years + of clinical practice and study in Chinese medicine I have taken it upon myself to seek out not only various teachers, but the best teachers available to me. This quest and thirst for knowledge stems from my first teacher, John Dolic, who guided me as teenager and adult through studies in Chinese martial arts, qigong, medicine, language, and philosophy. I then worked in a number of clinics, observing practitioners and their styles. Following this I moved to China and spent time with teachers from various provinces, learning some aspects of folk medicine, traditional herbal medicine and more. In 2004, however, after organising a seminar about a master here in Sydney, I met Dr. David Tai. Through a formal invitation I started observing in Dr. Tai’s clinic in Randwick, Sydney and slowly but surely he accepted me as an inner door student and disclosed classical methods and practices. Now Dr. Tai is retired I hope to continue his legacy of classical acupuncture and furthermore continue work with spinal cord injury, stroke, and other neurological specialists in the rehabilitation of those suffering with such conditions, as I have done at the Royal Rehabilitation Centre Sydney, Royal North Shore Hospital Spinal Injury Unit, and through private rehabilitation centres around Sydney.
